Sirius GT - Construction Accounting Software

The Sirius GT story begins with a respected and nationally known developer of construction management systems. Their product had the unique feature of being able to run multi-user and multi-tasking under Unix and MS-DOS. This 'cross platform' capability was developed by AcuCorp (San Diego, CA) who were the authors of the programming language that Sirius GT was originally written in. This MS-DOS feature attracted the attention of Microsoft, who was just releasing a new operating system called Windows that did not yet have these capabilities.

At this time, Microsoft's popular programming language, MBasic, was text based only and designed for single user and single tasking. It would be years before Microsoft could fully develop graphical programming languages and a true multi-user, multi-tasking operating system, which would be known as Windows 95.

Details of the collaboration between Microsoft and AcuCorp, which now has offices worldwide, were never publicly disclosed. Shortly thereafter, in 1991, AcuCorp began contacting all of their software development partners with their proposal to create a new Windows based language that would enable them to enhance their existing products for this multi-tasking, multi-user operating system under development by Microsoft.

The programming department of this well-known construction software developer was very anxious to begin work on this new Windows product, but higher authorities were not convinced. Unable to persuade management, the entire programming staff resigned and formed their own company named Sirius (pronounced as serious) Business Accounting in Dayton, Ohio.

In an agreement with their former employer, SBA cross-licensed all of the code for the construction management system they had developed and began work on their Windows product. It took five (5) years to modify and enhance the system design. In October of 1996.

Using AcuCorp's revolutionary Vision™ indexing system with new state-of-the-art compilers (Microsoft Visual C code) Sirius GT was now the fastest and most full featured Windows based construction managements system available. It was no surprise that the new AcuCorp GT language that Sirius GT was written in, was true 32-bit, multi-user/multi-tasking and could 'paint' graphical screens and automatically generate the necessary code, just like Microsoft's own Visual Basic and Visual C languages.

Sirius Business Accounting, now known as Sirius GT, Inc. distributes Sirius GT Contruction Accounting for Windows through a nationwide network of (ASR's) Authorized Sirius Resellers. Version 7.1 continues our tradition of emphasizing Ease-of-Use, Attention to Detail and Innovative Design.
